Gina Carano is the biggest female action star in Hollywood right now.

Please alert your friends accordingly to this breaking news. Really your thoughts on the subject are inconsequential because a producer has already labeled Carano as indispensable when it comes to making a female version of the hit movie The Expendables

Regardless, Variety reports (h/t Big Lead Sports) the MMA star—who is also something of a TV and film actor—is being targeted for the blockbuster.

Carano also will be in Fast and the Furious 6 as well as a movie currently in pre-production called In the Blood

Her next project after that may very well be a star-studded action movie. That is, Carano will be the biggest star in the flick.

The movie comes from producer Adi Shankar who also produced The Grey and the recent remake Dredd

The producer had some seriously intense praise for Carano and the pull she has as an action star.

I don’t know how I’m supposed to make a movie that is supposed to be the female version of ‘The Expendables’ without Gina Carano in it. It would be like making Twix without caramel or Jamba Juice without jamba

Wow. Someone has a fairly inflated opinion on what we think of the Jamba that goes into Jamba Juice. Some might say that takes a rather shortsighted look at what Juice offers to the equation.

As for Carano, her Hollywood career is no doubt on an upward swing right now, but I would measure my expectations of a movie solely hoping to have her drive ticket sales.

As Expendables proved, no amount of star power can make a horrible movie any better. It’s the one reason I have crawled to see the sequel.

While I hear great things, the bad acting in the first Sylvester Stallone epic made me far too weary.

As the Variety report states, movies with strong female leads are having quite the year. The Hunger Games, Snow White and the Huntsman and Resident Evil: Retribution all had strong females in the lead roles and all performed well at the box office.

That’s great news for Hollywood and fans of the movies it pumps out, but I’m just not ready to call Carano the caramel inside a Twix just yet.

Follow me on Twitter to quell that Jamba Juice and Twix hunger.
