We have ore action from The Netherlands now, as Nikita Krylov and Francimar Barroso got at it. The light-heavyweights meet as part of the UFC Fight Night 87 main card, and the fight went down as follows:
Brazil vs. the Ukraine here, and Krylov looks pumped. They touch gloves, Krylov jabs and Barroso with a right and now they trade wild punches. Krylov with five straight jabs and they clinch. Krylov with an underhook, picks for a single, knees to the thighs from NK. Barroso doesn’t want the fight in this position as his back is getting pushed on the fence. Head fighting for position here, shoulder strikes a la Randy Couture from Krylov, Barosso breaks away with big punches though, Krylov backs off.
Crazy head kick by Krylov, but Barroso lands a sweet right uppercut. Barroso takes the back in the scramble now, Krylov gets up but he’s still in danger, they break. Barroso has poor form as he lunges and misses, nice punches by Krylov, who perhaps looks the better striker here. They clinch, Krylov needs to keep that chin down, close round, maybe 10-9 Krylov.
Don’t fight like a drunk man is the advice from Krylov’s corner, round 2 starts and Krylov with two monster head kicks, big punches now too. Barroso hanging in there, now they clinch and Barroso is in control. Nice takedown but Krylov sweeps and fires down elbows with bad intent but Barroso with a brutal upkick. A lesser man would be out cold, head butt now by Krylov and he gets warned by the referee. Elbows from Krylov, can opener now by Krylov, and elbows once again. Krylov in side control, now half guard with elbows still. Barroso might be getting tired here, but he shoots up a triangle and gives up his back. xx
