The season season of the Professional Fighters League rolls on, as tonight (May 23rd) sees Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York host week two of the regular season.
In the main event, Lance Palmer looks to make it consecutive featherweight tournament triumphs, as he starts his 2019 campaign against Alex Gilpin. In the co-main event, Long Island’s own Chris Wade gets the lightweight group underway against Nate Andrews.
We do have some changes to the schedule. Alexandre “Popo” Bezerra was extremely overweight and passed out during the weight-cutting process, so he’s been pulled from his bout vs. Jeremy Kennedy and replaced by Luis Rafael Laurentino. Alexandre Almeida missed weight for his bout versus Laurentino, hence the switch was made.
Meanwhile, lightweight Ronys Torres was not licensed by the NYSAC for his bout vs. Ramsey Nijem, so Ramsey gets three points and a walkover win.
Week 2 is all about the men’s lightweights and featherweights, and Bloody Elbow is the place to be to discuss the event. The prelims begin at 7 PM ET on ESPN2 and followed by the main card at 9 PM ET on ESPN+. It’s a flip from the last show, so hopefully this clarifies things.
