Jon Jones is packing on the pounds.

Jon Jones has been teasing a heavyweight move for almost a decade now, and according to the long time light heavyweight champion, he should be ready to move up in the next couple of months. Jones, who has packed on the pounds doing a lot of heavy lifting as of late, took to social media to post a photo of himself at 240 lbs.

“240lbs never felt so good, should be ready in the next few months #AndTheNew”

Jones at 240 lbs is already heavier than the last time Stipe Miocic fought in August, where the heavyweight champion weighed in at just 233 lbs. Both fighters stand at 6-foot-4, but Jones will also have a much longer wingspan, with a four and a half inch reach advantage.

It’s also interesting to point out that his other rival in Israel Adesanya has criticized Jones, saying that intentionally put on too much weight has been Jones’ “downfall.” Adesanya has fought all the way up to heavyweight during his kickboxing days, and argues that bulking up is a “stupid” strategy when switching divisions.
