Raquel Pa’aluhi to step in for Cindy Dandois, face Kaitlin Young at Invicta FC 9

Invicta FC announced on Friday that bantamweight Cindy Dandois was forced to withdraw from her bout with Kaitlin Young at Invicta FC 9 due to visa issues. The Belgian will now be replaced Hawaiian fighter Raquel Pa’aluhi, who takes the fight on a week’s notice.

The fight, which takes place at The RiverCenter in Davenport, Iowa on Nov. 1, will now be contested at featherweight according to the press release.

“I’m disappointed that Cindy is not able to fight on this card, but we’ll bring her back [to compete] at our next event,” Invicta FC president Shannon Knapp stated. “Kudos to Raquel for taking on a veteran like Kaitlin Young with just a week’s notice. We love that kind of warrior spirit at Invicta and those two are going to put on a show next Saturday night.”

Dandois will now be rescheduled for an opponent to be named later at Invicta FC 10 on Dec. 5.

Invicta FC 9 will feature a headlining bout between flyweight champion Barb Honchak and Japanese contender Takayo Hashi, with a co-main between strawweights Mizuki Inoue and Polish fighter Karolina Kowalkiewicz.

The fight card will stream live on the UFC’s Fight Pass.
