While they will not be fighting this Saturday at UFC 205 in New York at the world famous Madison Square Garden, former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans and top middleweight fighter Tim Kennedy will indeed get to fight at UFC 206.

The Evans – Kennedy fight was pulled from UFC 205 due to medical issues with Evans. Details were scarce about the specific details of his removal, and remain so when Evans would not disclose the injury. However, Evans did note on social media that he is still more than ready to fight.

Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting is reporting that the UFC is currently working on adding a fight between Evans and Kennedy to the UFC 206 card.

Evans (19-5-1) is currently on a two fight losing streak and is 3-3 in his last six bouts. He is coming off a loss to Glover Teixeira at UFC on FOX 19 by first round KO.

Kennedy (18-5) is 4-1 in his last five bouts and is coming off a loss to Yoel Romero at UFC 178 by third round TKO.

UFC 206 takes place in Toronto, Canada at the Air Canada Centre on Dec. 10th. The main card will air on PPV (pay-per-view) while the prelims will air on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass. A light heavyweight title rematch between champion Daniel Cormier and top contender Anthony Johnson is scheduled to main event UFC 206.
