If you were being followed by two strangers in New York around 3 a.m. in the morning, how would you react?
Famed fighter and trainer Renzo Gracie tweeted to his followers as he was in that exact situation Thursday evening, giving updates every couple minutes.
The action started at 3:11 a.m. Eastern Time, when Renzo tweeted:
22nd street and 10th ave right now two guys following me, can’t help but have a big smile upon my face Im talking about a happy one;-))))

Five tweets and 12 minutes later, the sixth degree black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu was ready to throw down:

At 3:47, Gracie, who also has earned a black belt in Judo, complains that his hand hurts and that the second would-be attacker has run away.
Around 5 a.m., the PRIDE veteran finally caught the man in question and gave him a vicious beating. Here is the transcription of three tweets Gracie composed between 5:01 a.m. and 5:06 a.m.:
“Be enough… Dumb f%#^ I just gave him the old style Raccoon, it has been a while since the last time I did.. Choke him out 3 times…And before he woke up I did hit each eye socket at least twice, tomorrow he will wake up like a raccoon, and every time he woke up I was…Whispering at his ears.. That’s what death feels like it.. Don’t do that again. My f***ing hand hurts, :-/ a lot”
In the aftermath of the brawl, Gracie tweeted a picture of his hand, noting that he should have used elbows.
At 45 years old, Renzo Gracie may not have any good fights left for the Octagon, but he clearly has more than enough skills to still handle his own on the streets.
