Floyd Mayweather made a lot of money, again.

Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul may not have been the greatest display of fisticuffs, but as expected, it generated a lot of money.

Several reports are coming in about the amount of pay-per-view buys the exhibition boxing match generated. USA Today’s source reports that it sold one million pay-per-views, while the Athletic and Boxing Scene both state that it will “at least exceed” that amount.

According to both Boxing Scene and Sportico, Showtime is projecting over a million buys “or slightly more” domestically, which includes purchases via cable, satellite and streaming. They also report that Sunday was also Showtime’s biggest day of new subscription signups for their streaming service.

While the total could be affected by some refunds due to the faulty stream, the event priced at $49.99 is expected to have generated over $50 million in pay-per-view revenue alone. Mayweather is also expected to take home a large cut of all of those sales.

By facing popular opponents from other backgrounds in Conor McGregor, Tenshin Nasukawa, and now Paul, Mayweather managed to eliminate a lot of risk and still sell massive events even through his retirement.

After convincing over a million households to purchase an exhibition against a YouTuber with a 0-1 record, it’s really hard to disagree when the 44-year-old said he’s “the best at legalized bank robbery.”
