While some have reacted negatively to the fact that 19-year-old UFC newcomer Sage Northcutt is already earning $40,000 show and $40,000 win purses in his first two fights inside the Octagon, the rookie sensation is quick to point out his value to the promotion.

Northcutt spoke about the reaction to his UFC pay during a recent interview with the folks at MMAJunkie.com.

“I want everyone in the UFC to make as much money as they can. I want the best and the most money everyone can make in the UFC. I think and I believe that I bring something different to the table — something that makes people want to tune in and watch. (Fighters need to bring) something that’s of value to the UFC. I think that’s really important with the UFC, and people can see that with me.”

The well-paid UFC newcomer will make his Octagon return at UFC On FOX 18 on January 31st, where as recently reported, he will be fighting Bryan Barbarena in a 170-pound fight instead of competing against Andrew Holbrook in a 155-pound fight as originally scheduled.
