The UFC announced on Tuesday that Moraes and Sobotta, initially expected to battle in April, will collide at the upcoming UFC event in Berlin. UFC Fight Night 69 is scheduled for June 20 at the 02 World Arena.
Moraes improved to 9-2 as a mixed martial artist with a win over Mickael Lebout, who stepped in on short notice at UFN 64. The Brazilian, who is also scheduled to grapple with Leandro Lo in a jiu-jitsu match at Saturday’s Copa Podio in Rio de Janeiro, won his last three under the UFC banner.
Sobotta (14-4-1), who went 0-3 in his first UFC in 2009 and 2010, returned to the promotion after winning five in a row in the Europe circuit, including three submission victories in one night in 2012. Sobotta scored his first UFC win with a decision over Paweł Pawlak at Berlin’s UFN 41 last May.
