A UFC middleweight vouches for Khamzat Chimaev’s strength and grappling acumen.

Khamzat Chimaev’s hype-train has been on overdrive lately, and one of those who recently vouched for his skills is Darren Stewart.

The UFC middleweight had high praise for Chimaev’s skills and strength, after getting a chance to train with him in Sweden. As the fighter aptly named “The Dentist” explained, he had some unwanted dental work done while working with the undefeated prospect.

“I know people sit there and say he hasn’t fought certain people,” Stewart told AbzTalks about Chimaev (HT: MMA Mania). “He hasn’t yet. But look here, bro, the guy took a filling out of my tooth, just by cranking my neck.

“He’s so strong, bruv. You could sit there and say, ‘It’s not about strength,’ and this. Brother, he’s so technical and so strong,” he said. “I was grappling with him, and my ear ripped. Then he had to come put tape around my head. It was mad.

“I’ve seen what he does. He’s not a guy to mess with.”

After an impressive 3-0 start to his UFC career in 2020, Chimaev was supposed to get a huge step up in competition next against welterweight contender Leon Edwards. Unfortunately, the bout has (again) been reportedly scrapped.
