Welterweight bout: Marius Zaromskis vs. Evangelista Santos

Odds:  (-220 Zaromskis / +170 Santos )

In the co-main event, skilled Lithuanian striker Marius Zaromskis will look to get back to his dominant form after a tough loss to Nick Diaz.  Standing in his way is Chute Boxe’s Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos, a formidable striker in his own right.  This promises to be a short and violent affair that you definitely don’t want to miss.

Santos, a member of the famed Chute Boxe Academy in Brazil, is something of a glass cannon.  His striking can be devastating, but his chin is extremely fragile.  He does have some submission skills, but he usually chooses to just stand and bang with opponents and either knock them out or get knocked himself.

Zaromskis, who looked very impressive before being completely picked apart by Nick Diaz, is similar to Santos in a number of ways.  His standup offense is some of the best in the sport, but his chin is questionable, and so is his defense.  Still his striking is very crisp, very technical, and very powerful, which makes him an extremely formidable opponent.

If there was a way to bet against this fight going to the ground, that would be the safest bet of the night.  Both guys like to trade, and neither can take a whole lot of punishment, so this is going to be a short but exciting standup affair.  You have to give the edge to Zaromskis, who has more power and better technique, not to mention a size advantage.  Zarmoskis by KO, Round 1.

Prediction:  Marius Zaromskis via first round KO.
