Middleweight bout: Tim Kennedy vs. Trevor Prangley

Odds:  ( Prangley / Kennedy )

In a featured middleweight bout, tough contender Tim Kennedy will face off against UFC veteran Trevor Prangley in what should be a very competitive contest.  Kennedy is a very well-rounded fighter, but Prangley is much more athletic and experienced and has faced a higher level of competition throughout his career, so this one could go either way.

Tim Kennedy, a tough, well-rounded fighter who trains at Chuck Liddell’s The Pit in San Luis Obispo, is probably best known for his decision win over fan favorite Jason “Mayhem” Miller.  Although Miller avenged that loss, Kennedy handled himself well in the rematch, and recovered with three wins in a row, including one over top contender Nick Thompson.  Kennedy is very versatile, with good boxing and submissions, decent wrestling, and a solid chin.

Prangley, who had a stint in the UFC a few years ago, is also quite versatile, and comes from the highly regarded American Kickboxing Academy.  His standup is decent but not overly powerful, but he makes up for it with very solid wrestling, good top control, and a great submission game.

In the standup, Kennedy probably has the edge over Prangley, but Prangley is clearly the physically stronger of the two and has better wrestling and a better top game.  Kennedy will probably get some shots in and hang tough, but I think Prangley will outwork him on the ground for the unanimous decision win.

Prediction:  Trevor Prangley via unanimous decision.
