After years of fighting, the sport of Mixed Martial Arts will finally get to have it’s first modern day professional fight card in the state of New York. It’s not the UFC that will be kicking off the fight party in New York, but the up and coming Combate Americas. With the ability to watch it on BEIN Sports en Espanol or UFC Fight Pass in English, this is a huge spot for a young organization. A chance to cement itself in the history of the sport. In the middle of it all is Atomweight Paulina Granados, who will fight in the first professional female MMA fight in the history of the state of New York.

With the city buzzing and all eyes on her, Pualina understands the magnitude of this fight. “That feels really cool. Like somebody asked me ‘O, how does it feel? You are going to make history.’ I had no idea what they were talking about. I was like ‘Wait, were the first pro MMA fights there?’ ‘And they were like, ya.’ That’s really really cool. I never think about stuff like that, but ya know. That’s like a big deal. I’m really stoked Combate is letting me be apart of this, it’s like a huge deal. Ya know?”

Listen to the full interview and here Paulina’s thoughts on her opponent Jenna Serio, how she turned a rough situation after college into her MMA career, and why she was jumping out of Took Took’s in Cambodia to go get her cell phone back. All that and much more. Make sure to tune in to watch this epic event live on BEIN Sports en Espanol or UFC Fight Pass to watch it in English.
