The news of the bout was confirmed by MMAWeekly.com on Monday from sources close to the fight. No information was provided on what part of the card the fight would take place on, but it’s a sure bet they will fight on the pay-per-view card, possibly as the co-main event under the upcoming rematch between Jon Fitch and BJ Penn.

Not yet officially announced, UFC 132 is expected to take place on July 2 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ortiz had been scheduled to fight this weekend against Antônio Rogério Nogueira at UFC Fight Night 24, but a training injury forced him off the card. Ortiz collided heads with another fighter while training which opened up a cut on his head, which required 22 stitches to close, and also gave Ortiz a minor concussion.

Ortiz, a five time defending UFC light heavyweight champion, is looking at the end of the road after three straight losses and a record of 0-3-1 in his last four UFC bouts. Due to injuries and surgery to his neck, Ortiz has only fought once a year for the last four years. He lost a unanimous decision to Matt Hamill at UFC 121 in 2010, a split decision to Forrest Griffin at UFC 106 in 2009, and another unanimous decision to Lyoto Machida at UFC 84 in 2008. Ryan-BaderIn 2007, Ortiz fought Rashad Evans to a draw after he was penalized a point for holding the fence.

Bader, meanwhile, just suffered his first career loss after rattling off twelve straight professional victories. He faced the newly crowned light heavyweight champ Jon Jones last month at UFC 126. Jones would use a guillotine choke to submit “Darth” in the second round to earn the #1 contender status. Bader is 5-1 since he made his UFC debut by winning season 8 of “The Ultimate Fighter” by stopping housemate Vinny Magalhães by TKO in 2008. His last win was a unanimous decision over Antônio Rogério Nogueira in September at UFC 119 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
