According to a press release from UFC.com, Tito Ortiz and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira are set to meet at UFC 140 in Toronto. Both parties have verbally agreed to fight.
Ortiz has endured an emotional year thus far after picking up a win against Ryan Bader at UFC 132, before losing to Rashad Evans at UFC 133. “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” is prepared to make his third appearance inside the Octagon this year.
Nogueira is coming off consecutive losses to Ryan Bader, and most recently, Phil Davis at UFC Fight Night 24 in March. His UFC record currently stands at 2-2. Nogueira and Ortiz were originally expected to meet that night before Ortiz was forced to pull out of the event due to injury.
UFC 140 is scheduled for December 10, live from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario. In addition to this bout, the card is expected to feature a welterweight bout between Canadian prospect Rory McDonald and Brian Ebersole, as well as a rematch between heavyweight contenders Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Frank Mir.
