Earlier this week it was teased that an ‘industry re-defining’ announcement would be coming today (Wednesday November, 30, 2016), and we got exactly that when former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre, former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez, former bantamweight champ TJ Dillashaw, Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone, and Tim Kennedy announced their forming of the Mixed Martial Arts Athletes Association.
A media call was issued to introduce the new association earlier today in which St-Pierre, Velasquez, Dillashaw, Cerrone, and Kennedy all answered questions along with Bellator founder and former CEO Bjorn Rebney.
We snagged the best Twitter reactions from fellow UFC fighters in response to the ground-breaking news, and you can check them out here:
The FIGHTERS are 100% in control of this. The board which Bjorn is NOT on will make all decisions. https://t.co/SxZfJ8RLCz
