Tyron Woodley is going for his fifth UFC welterweight title defense in the co-main event of UFC 235 tonight (Sat. March 2, 2019).

Woodley will defend his title against fellow high-level competitor Kamaru Usman. The pair will meet on pay-per-view (PPV) from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas Nevada. Speaking to Yahoo Sports’ Kevin Iole recently, Woodley offered a comparison between himself and “The Nigerian Nightmare”.

While the welterweight champ admits there are some good aspects to Usman’s game, he doesn’t see anything “excellent” about him (via MMA News):

“Usman has decent striking. He has good wrestling. But when you think about me, three categories: you have to put excellent,” Woodley said.

“He has excellent grappling. He is an excellent striker. He has excellent power. He has excellent takedown defense. So he doesn’t really have anything excellent next to him.”

Woodley then made some interesting comments about the judging heading into UFC 235. The welterweight king said, even if he’s out-classing Usman inside the cage, he thinks the Nigerian might be able to put on a good poker face and deceive the judges:

“He’s gonna be kind of relaxed. He’s gonna keep his poker face on. Even if I’m outclassing him, he’s gonna act like nothing happened. And that composure can sometimes sway the judges on what’s really taking place in the Octagon, and I know that. So I gotta be ready to put it on him for 25 minutes.”
