UFC 132 Fight Card: Profile of Wanderlei Silva
Bleacher Report’s: Cody Slovensky
UFC 132 will take place on Saturday, July 2 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV. The main event will feature the first UFC bantamweight title fight ever as Dominick Cruz defends his title against the only feature to ever defeat him, Urijah Faber.
The co-main event will feature the long awaited return of Wanderlei Silva, who is set to face Chris Leben. Also appearing on the main card will be Tito Ortiz who will be fighting for his UFC career when he faces Ryan Bader.
Wanderlei Silva (33-10-1 1NC) is a Mixed Martial Artist who has been fighting for over ten years. He started his career with bare knuckle Vale Tudo fights and worked his way up from there. He is in the top three of greatest Pride fighters of all time and easily top 10 of overall alltime.
His record inside of the UFC isn’t the prettiest, but his overall career speaks for itself.
He is coming off of an extremely impressive performance at UFC 112 in Austrailia against Michael Bisping. He hasn’t fought in over a year, due to injuries.
After receiving surgery on his nose, starting a healthier diet and making the drop to middleweight, Wanderlei has shown that he isn’t done just yet.
