UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar is down to meet Gray Maynard for the third time in his career and the second time in 2011 on the UFC 136 fight card.
Edgar and Maynard previously fought to a draw at UFC 125, which took place at the very beginning of the year, and were expected to meet at UFC 130 in March. That is, before injuries sidelined both fighters.
Edgar and Maynard will finally meet again on Saturday night, before the UFC lightweight division will open up to new challengers once more.
Also on the card is the co-main event between Jose Aldo and Kenny Florian. Aldo looks to defend his UFC featherweight title for the second time in his career and is coming off a big unanimous decision victory at UFC 129 over Mark Hominick.
Kenny Florian, the perennial weight cutter, will be fighting for only the second time at the featherweight level. Florian was last seen at UFC 131, where he beat Diego Nunes by unanimous decision.
