The payroll for this past weekends UFC 137: Penn vs. Diaz event was released by the Nevada State Athletic Commission on Monday. The official purse paid out to the twenty-two fighters was $1,026,000.
UFC 137 took place on Oct. 29 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada with action taking place on pay-per-view, television, and on the web.
The highest paid competitor was main event winner Nick Diaz, who took home $200,000 for his split decision win over BJ Penn ($150,000). While the third highest paid fighter was from the co-main event, as Cheick Kongo earned $140,000 for his decision win over Matt Mitrione who earned $10,000 for the loss.
Surprisingly, the fourth highest paid fighter of the night fought on the Facebook prelim card earning $120,000 for his win. Brandon Vera earned a unanimous decision win over Eliot Marshall ($15,000).
