UFC 137 is set to take place October 29 from Las Vegas and will feature a welterweight title fight between the Champ George St-Pierre vs. No. 1 contender Carlos Condit.
In the co-main, the legendary B.J. Penn will be taking on the enigmatic Nick Diaz. St-Pierre was originally scheduled to take on Diaz while Penn was set to take on Condit, but due to the shenanigans of Diaz, the UFC was forced to pull the old switcheroo.
Also in action: the unflappable Roy Nelson will be taking on aging legend Mirko “Cro Cop” in one of two heavyweight tilts; the other being a scrap between hard hitting gatekeeper Cheick Kongo and undefeated up and comer Matt Mitrione.
Rounding out the main card is a featherweight battle between No. 2 ranked in the world Hatsu Hioki—who will be making his UFC debut—vs. the formidable and hard-hitting but streaky George Roop.
B/R MMA Editor Brian Oswald breaks down each fight in rapid fire succession and gives his predictions, which you can take to the bank.
