A middleweight bout scheduled for this months UFC 137: St-Pierre vs. Condit event has seen a change as prelim fighter Tim ‘Crazy’ Credeur (12-4) has been forced to withdraw from his fight with season 11 “TUF” winner Brad Tavares (7-1).
Stepping in as his replacement will be newcomer Dustin Jacoby (6-0), which was first reported by MMAjunkie.com, as well as by the fighter and his trainer by Twitter and Facebook.
The new matchup featuring Tavares vs. Jacoby will certainly stay on the preliminary card but could likely see it shift down the list of scheduled matches.
UFC 137: St-Pierre vs. Condit is scheduled to take place on October 29 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event is headlined by a UFC welterweight title match between champ Georges St-Pierre versus Carlos Condit.
Tavares suffered his first pro-loss in his last fight, dropping a unanimous decision to Aaron Simpson at UFC 132 in July. Previous to that, the “TUF” winner had earned wins over Phil Baroni via first round TKO at UFC 125 and over castmate Seth Baczynski by decision at the “TUF 11 Finale.”
Jacoby is undefeated in six pro-fights, having stopped all of his opponents, five by (T)KO and one by submission. He’s only fought once into the second round, with five first-round wins, none of which made it into the third minute of the first.
