The UFC is one of the most unpredictable sports around and when this news broke, that statement was solidified. Nick Diaz has been pulled from UFC 137 and has been replaced by Carlos Condit.
Dana White held a press conference detailing what happened with Diaz. Apparently he had many chances to catch flights to pressers in both Toronto and Las Vegas—and he didn’t show for any of them.
Finally, White had enough and pulled the ol’ switcheroo.
Carlos Condit now fights GSP for the title at UFC 137 and Nick Diaz will take on B.J. Penn in the co-main event.
Fans are torn about this as they’ve been waiting for a Penn/Diaz fight to happen for a while, yet after his actions, does he really deserve to be in such a high profile fight?
Bleacher Report’s very own Brian Oswald breaks down what happened and tells us what we can expect from both fights that will make UFC 137 one of the most anticipated events to date.
