UFC 138 is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 5, from the LG Arena in Birmingham, England. The card, featuring a main event between Chris “The Crippler” Leben and Mark “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” Munoz, marks the UFC’s only visit to the UK in 2011 and its first since October of last year when Michael Bisping and Yoshihiro Akiyama met at UFC 120.
Leben enters the fight having knocked out Wanderlei Silva in his last bout. Due to the styles of the two fighters, almost everyone expected the bout to end with a knockout and they were not disappointed. The fight lasted a scant 27 seconds, with Leben catching “The Axe Murderer,” who left himself exposed with his wide open technique, and put him to sleep.
Munoz has very quietly climbed the middleweight division rankings, going 6-2 since joining the promotion. Munoz’s last fight was a unanimous decision victory over Demain Maia at UFC 131. A win over Leben may very well put Munoz one or two fights away from a shot at the UFC middleweight crown.
The main card for UFC 138 will be broadcast via tape delay on Spike TV at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The preliminary card will be streamed on the UFC’s Facebook page at 12:30 p.m ET/ 9:30 a.m. PT.
