UFC 139 will take place Saturday, November 19 from the HP Pavilion in San Jose, CA. Of the five fights on the main card, three will feature former champions facing off against each other, all in the quest to get one step closer to the ultimate prize, UFC gold.

The main event will see former UFC light heavyweight champion, Maurico “Shogun” Rua facing off against former PRIDE and Strikeforce champion Dan Henderson.  Judging by the fighters past few wins, chances are good that this one will not make it five rounds.  Rua’s last five wins have come via knockout or technical knockout.  For his part, Henderson’s last four wins have come via KO or TKO.

The co-main event will feature the UFC debut of former Strikeforce champion Cung Le. Le (7-1) has never gone the distance in any of his fights, ending six via KO or TKO and being KO’d in his only loss.  Le’s opponent, former PRIDE champion Wanderlei Silva, has gone 4-6 in his last ten fights, with four of those losses coming via knockout.  In his four victories he has two decision and two KO/TKO stoppages.

Two former WEC champions will face off for, what many believe will be, a shot to face current UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz.  Faber (25-5) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Cruz at UFC 132, while Bowles (10-1) is on a two fight winning streak since losing his WEC title to Cruz on March 6 of last year.
