The California State Athletic Commission released the fighter salaries for this past Saturday’s (Nov. 19, 2011) UFC 139: Shogun vs. Rua event, revealing a total disclosed payroll of $1,524,000.
UFC 139 took place at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California. with portions of the nights action being shown live via streaming video on the web, on television and on pay-per-view.
The top earner for the event was former Strikeforce middleweight champ Cung Le, who was paid $350,000 for his performance against Wanderlei Silva, who picked up $200,000 for the win over Le. On top of that, both men earned an extra $70,000 in “Fight of the Night” money.
The next top earner was event headliner Dan Henderson, who earned $250,000 in his unanimous decision win over opponent Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua ($165,000).
