Jon Jones entered the Ultimate Fighting Championship in August of 2008 where he captured the first win of his career by defeating Andre Gusmao via unanimous decision at UFC 87.

“Bones” Jones would go on to win his next two fights only to lose a disqualification against Matt Hamill at The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights Finale.

However, Jones career would take a path that few had threaded upon as he was declared the new UFC light heavyweight champion in a knockout victory over Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC 128.

Jones also became the youngest champion in UFC history and went on to successfully defend his title against Quinton “Rampage” Jackson at UFC 135.

And, while Jones may be busy preparing himself for his second title defense against Lyoto Machida at UFC 140 on December 10th, he found time to enter the Octagon against one of women’s best boxers, Holly Holm.

Holm hasn’t lost a match in 24 consecutive fights as she holds a career record of 30-1-3.

While Holm may be arguably the greatest women’s boxer on the planet, she recently made the transition into the sport of mixed martial arts.

Holm has displayed a perfect 2-0 record as both her wins inside the Octagon have been a result of technical knockouts by way of leg kicks.

Jones and Holm engaged in a sparring session as neither were pushing themselves past a casual workout.

Holm is set to take on Anne Sophie Mathis on December 2nd, 2012.
