A welterweight clash between Matt ‘Deep Water’ Riddle (5-3) and Luis ‘Beicao’ Ramos (19-7) was announced for December’s UFC 141 card by the promotion Tuesday afternoon.

Both fighters will look to stave off the unemployment line as Riddle has dropped his last two, while Ramos lost his only Octagon appearance earlier this year.

They will meet in Las Vegas as part of the UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem card, which is scheduled for December 30th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Fans can expect this fight to appear on the preliminary portion of the event.

Despite a good effort in his last fight, even earning the “Fight of the Night” bonus against newcomer Lance Benoist, Matt Riddle came up short losing by unanimous decision for a second straight bout. He and Benoist fought on the UFN 25 card in New Orleans this past September. While previous to that, Riddle had taken on Sean Pierson at UFC 124.

Ramos wasn’t able to show UFC fans much in his debut bout last summer as part of UFC 134, having suffered a first round TKO loss at 40-seconds of the first round versus Erick Silva. Before that, the Brazilian fighter had won three straight and was 6-1 over his previous seven fights. Ramos has won four of his pro-matches by (T)KO, four by submission, and eleven by decision over his career.
