UFC 143 is now upon us, as Nick Diaz and Carlos “Natural Born Killer” Condit will face off in what will be a bout to remember.
Diaz (27-7-1), comes into this fight streaking, putting up his best quality as of late. Diaz has won his last 11 fights and 14 of his last 16 bouts. The last bout Diaz lost was in November of 2007 against K.J. Noons.
Talk about impressive.
Meanwhile, the “Natural Born Killer” has won five of his last six fights, with his most recent loss coming in April of 2009. The last fight Condit dropped came to Martin Kampmann.
The two are fighters that are accustomed to bringing the heat in different ways.
Diaz is a tremendous hitter that is aggressive with his blows. He is not a fighter that is interested in winning via takedown or submission, as his ability to get at an opponent with his hands and feet are what make him a special fighter.
Condit is also a well-rounded fighter, boasting an ability to strike well and take opponents out via takedown. Once he’s got an opponent on the ground, more times than not this is the fighter with the advantage in the bout.
Yet what makes Condit a feared fighter is his ability to beat opponents through submission. It is his evident strength. As of late, however, he has won in KO/TKO fashion, which may bode well for Diaz.
If Condit is to continue this approach and try to defeat Diaz by getting solid strikes on him, it will be Diaz that takes the match. Diaz can and will counter with his ability to deliver solid blows.
The style which Condit has brought to the table more recently will hurt him in the end and give the streaking Diaz another win to add to his 11-fight win streak.
