The UFC made its final trip to Canada of the year for UFC 154, and the most popular Canadian fighter in the world proved why he’s also one of the most dominant.
Georges St-Pierre fought five hard rounds against Carlos Condit, using his wrestling and top control to dominate the majority of the fight, but it was a third-round head kick from Condit the provided the most exciting moment of Saturday night.
The strike caught St-Pierre unaware and sent him falling to the mat, and Condit showed the finishing instincts that earned him the nickname “Natural Born Killer.”
However, the champion would survive and St-Pierre ended up reversing the position and turning the fight back in his favor.
With the win over Condit, St-Pierre just added another title defense on his already incredible resume, but after getting himself into trouble for the first time in years, GSP showed a vulnerability that we aren’t used to seeing from the champion.
UFC 154 gave us a memorable title fight and a new appreciation for St-Pierre, but every fight card features fighters either climbing the ranks or slowly descending down the list of title contenders; this post-fight stock report covers the entire UFC 154 main card.
