UFC 162 will kick off in a few hours from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Headlining the fight card will be a middleweight title bout between champion Anderson Silva and top ranked contender Chris Weidman. The evening’s co-main event will see former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar meeting Charles Oliveira in a featherweight contest.
Three hours before those bouts begin, the UFC will stream two preliminary fights for free. Those bouts will both take place in the welterweight division.
First to the Octagon will be David Mitchell versus Mike Pierce. That bout will be followed by a scrap between Seth Baczynski and Brian Melancon.
Pierce (16-5) has quietly put together a three-fight winning streak since his last loss, a split decision defeat at the hands of Josh Koscheck. Mitchell (12-2) saw a two-fight losing streak come to a halt in his last bout, a unanimous decision win over Simeon Thoresen.
Baczynski (18-9) was on a six-fight winning streak before he dropped a unanimous decision to Pierce in December 2012. Melancon (6-2) will be making his UFC debut after going 1-1 with Strikeforce.
The two fights will begin streaming at 7 p.m. ET / 4 PT.
