Light heavyweight Phil Davis and flyweight Scott Jorgensen could each miss up to six months of action because of injuries sustained at UFC 179.
Davis, who won his fight against Glover Teixeira, apparently suffered a hand injury during the contest. Jorgensen‘s injury was more apparent; he will miss time because of a rib injury he sustained thanks to a huge kick from Wilson Reis. Reis won that bout by submission.
The suspensions were released Monday by the Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission and reported by MMA Fighting.
In the evening’s main event, Jose Aldo defended his UFC featherweight title in a five-round war with Chad Mendes. Both men received 60-day suspensions from the commission.
