MMA: UFC Fight Night-Cyborg vs Lansberg

Jason Silva-USA TODAY Sports

Former UFC women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg will try to rebound from her first loss in 13 years later tonight (Sat., July 27, 2019) at UFC 240 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, when she takes on undefeated Canadian contender Felicia Spencer.

Cyborg, 34, still has a lot of fight left in the tank despite competing at the highest level for well over a decade. The former UFC, Strikeforce, and Invicta FC champion certainly needs a win over Spencer to assure a title rematch with current UFC women’s bantamweight and featherweight queen Amanda Nunes, but Cyborg has already done enough in her career to be considered one of the best ever.

In preparation for Cyborg’s co-main event tilt opposite “Feenom,” UFC has opened up its vault and released the greatest knockout finishes in the career of the Brazilian (shown in the above video player). From her 81-second destruction of Leslie Smith in her UFC debut to her brutal stoppage over Tonya Evinger to claim the UFC women’s featherweight title, Cyborg’s career highlight reel is simply bountiful.

Only time will tell if Cyborg is able to rebound from her first ever knockout defeat and become the first person to take out Spencer. Doing it on enemy soil isn’t going to help Cyborg’s chances later tonight at UFC 240, but the veteran knockout artist will have her legendary hands to back her up.
