Tim Credeur, who parlayed a deep run on The Ultimate Fighter into a solid UFC career, turned himself in early Monday to be booked in Louisiana on two misdemeanor charges.
The news came from regional website Busted in Acadiana, which published Credeur‘s mugshot and details of his arrest:
According to Lafayette Parish booking records, the MMA fighter turned coach/trainer was arrested and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center earlier today on one count of misdemeanor marijuana possession and carrying a concealed weapon.
According to MMA Weekly, the Lafayette, Louisiana police department issued a warrant for Credeur‘s arrest on May 29. Credeur turned himself in on Monday.
Louisiana native Credeur (12-4) compiled a 3-2 record while in the UFC. The 35-year-old acquitted himself well on the seventh season of TUF, reaching the semifinals as an underdog before losing to Jesse Taylor. However, Credeur returned to the show after Taylor was later disqualified for disciplinary reasons unrelated to the fight, but he lost to C.B. Dollaway in a second bid to reach the finals.
Credeur was injury-prone throughout his UFC tenure and was forced out of multiple bouts as a result. His final professional match came in June 2011, when he lost via technical knockout to Ed Herman at The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale.
Credeur earned a Fight of the Night bonus for a losing effort against Nate Quarry at UFC Fight Night 19 in 2009. The back-and-forth affair saw Credeur gas late in the match to drop a unanimous decision to Quarry.
In addition, Credeur has UFC wins over Cale Yarbrough, Nate Loughran and Nick Catone. During a run in the now-defunct Bodog Fight promotion, Credeur lost to current UFC star fighter and broadcaster Chael Sonnen after tapping to strikes in the first round.
Eight of Credeur‘s 12 professional wins came by way of submission. A black belt in both judo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, Credeur teaches jiu-jitsu at an academy in Louisiana.
