UFC Fight Night 34 takes off from Marina Bay, Singapore, Jan. 4, airing exclusively on the UFC’s new digital distribution network, UFC Fight Pass.
“Wait, so I can’t watch this on TV?”
Negative (unless, of course, you have your computer connected to your TV). The event is an online exclusive, and it will not be tape-delayed and re-aired later in the day.
On top of this new viewing method, the preliminary fights begin Saturday morning at 6 a.m. EST, with the main card taking off three hours later at 9.
For east coast residents such as myself, this means an early-morning wake-up call and a big pot of coffee is in order.
Sigh.
Fear not, though, gentle readers. Inconveniences aside, UFC Fight Night 34 still offers an entire card of free fights and a heaping pile of relatively unknown talent.
While this may be viewed as a negative, the possibility of tomorrow’s superstar emerging from a free, online-only card shown at 6 a.m. is pretty neat, and it provides a decent incentive to check it out.
Do you have your alarm clock set? Good. Let’s recap how you get these fights from Singapore into your home.
Where to watch
Now through Feb. 28, UFC Fight Pass is free, so sign up, log in and start browsing.
You will have to provide credit card information, but it will not be charged during the free trial period, and you can cancel your membership before March 1 to avoid the $9.99/month fee. This means that you can watch UFC Fight Night 34 for free with no strings attached.
As an added bonus, you will receive access to some super fun, old-school matchups that you may have missed the first time around. Browse the extensive library and satisfy the violence monger within.
When to watch
Signing up was painless enough, right?
