All 22 fighters who competed at UFC Fight Night 61 tested clean in the drug test.
The Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA) announced on Wednesday that heavyweight veterans Antonio Silva and Frank Mir, and the other 20 fighters who entered the Octagon on Feb. 22 in Porto Alegre, Brazil, were tested for banned substances, and the results came back negative.
Six fighters were randomly chosen and also subjected for EPO testing, and results also came back negative.
Silva, who suffered a first-round knockout loss to Mir in the main event, was the only fighter on the UFN 61 card with a history of drug abuse. The heavyweight veteran, who at one point of his career had an exemption for testosterone replacement therapy, tested positive for elevated levels of testosterone in a majority draw with Mark Hunt in December 2013. In 2008, “Bigfoot” tested positive for boldenone after winning the EliteXC title against Justin Eilers.
The UFC is scheduled to return to Brazil on March 21 with UFC Fight Night 62. Headlined by Demian Maia vs. Ryan LaFlare, the event takes place at the Maracanazinho gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro.
