The world’s largest MMA promotion has announced that it will be making the trip back across the pond this fall.
In an announcement released yesterday, UFC officials stated that the promotion will be holding its first ever event in Nottingham, England on September 29, which will be the upcoming UFC on Fuel TV 5.
This will mark the UFC’s first event in the United Kingdom since last November’s UFC 138, which was held at the LG Arena in Birmingham, England.
UFC on Fuel TV 5 will take place at the Capital FM Arena and will feature a host of notable international talent.
Already slated for the card will be a featherweight matchup of recent The Ultimate Fighter alums as Newcastle’s own Andy Ogle takes on Swedish fighter Akira Corassani. Ogle, a semifinalist on the reality show’s inaugural season on FX, was unable to compete at the Ultimate Fighter 15 Finale and petitioned UFC President Dana White for a chance to compete in his native country.
Also on the card will be a bantamweight battle between English veteran Brad Pickett and Canadian striker Yves Jabouin.
There has been no word yet as to whether either of these bouts will be featured on the main card.
