UFC Welterweight, Jon Fitch, has been asking for a rematch with Welterweight Champion, Georges St. Pierre for what seems like three years now. Fitch is coming of a Draw versus BJ Penn, and will be sidelined until December due to shoulder surgery. He’s 21-1-1 in his last 23 fights. That one loss was the lopsided defeat to GSP.
After hearing of the new of a Champion vs. Champion matchup between Nick Diaz and Georges St. Pierre rumored to take place in December, Fitch took to Twitter to vent his frustration.
Fitch posted, “why would that fight be good. Diaz got title cuz Shields vacated the belt. Paper champ.”
He later posted, “Let’s see Shields vs. Diaz for number one contender while I’m hurt.”
He first calls Nick Diaz a “paper champ.” Then proposes a No. 1 contender’s match between teammates Nick Diaz and Jake Shields.
Does he mentiuon teammates fighting each other for the No. 1 contender spot because Dana White kept pushing Fitch to fight his teammate Josh Koscheck in order to get a title fight versus GSP?
He wasn’t finished, “Keep that going Fitch Fanatics GSPvsDiaz=bullsh**”
Fitch may disagree with the match-up selection, but outside of Anderson Silva, Diaz is the only opponent for GSP the majority of fans want to see.
