UFC Newcomer Joey Gambino Replaces Jimy Hettes At UFC on FX 4

Undefeated featherweight Joey ‘The Raging Warrior’ Gambino (9-0) will make his Octagon debut next month after replacing an injured ‘The Kid’ Jimy Hettes (10-0) at the upcoming UFC on FX 4 event.

Gambino will meet veteran Steven ‘Super’ Siler (20-9), taking fight on less than a months notice.

UFC officials made the bout official earlier today.

With Jimy Hettes also out due to injury, the door has opened for featherweight prospect Joey Gambino to enter the UFC division and face Steven Siler. Gambino remains undefeated thus far in his pro career but will be face his toughest test against the very experienced Siler.

UFC on FX 4 (aka UFC on FX: Maynard vs. Guida) is scheduled to take place on June 22, 2012 at the Revel Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The event has lightweights Gray Maynard and Clay Guida meeting in the main event on FX television.

Gambino is undefeated in his career earning eight finishes in nine pro-victories. The Tristar Gym fighter was last in action this past February where he fought to a decision for the first time in his career, earning a unanimous decision over Kenny Foster in the main event of a CFFC 13 show. ‘The Raging Warrior’ has earned five stoppages by submission and 3 by (T)KO.

Siler competed this past March at UFC on FX 2 where he earned his second straight win inside the Octagon by defeating Cole Miller by decision. Siler was a member of Team Miller during season 14 of “TUF” losing to Diego Brandao in the quarter-finals of the reality series. ‘Super’ won his UFC debut by defeating Josh Clopton last December at the TUF 14 Finale.
