In recent weeks, there have been several fighters who suffered losses, and many expected them to be cut from the organization.

Today, the UFC confirmed the release of seven of their fighters. The first of which is middleweight Dongi Yang, who has lost two straight and is 1-3 overall in the UFC. In addition, there was Kamal Shalorus, a WEC import who went 0-3 in the Octagon, welterweight Jorge Lopez, who is 0-2 in the UFC, and bantamweight Jeff Curran, who went 0-2 in the Octagon.

All four of those fighters lost at the most recent UFC event on Fuel.

Also officially released were Aaron Rosa, who went 1-2 in the Octagon, and Steve Cantwell, who was on a five-fight losing streak. Also, former Ultimate Fighter winner Efrain Escudero was released in his second return to the Octagon after going 0-2.

In addition, several fighters had their profiles removed from UFC.com. Obviously, this is not an official removal, but when your profile gets taken down, it’s usually an indication that you’ve been cut.

Bantamweight, Alex Soto went 0-2 in the Octagon, and most recently lost at UFC on Fuel TV 3, Eric Wisely also went 0-2, losing to Charles Oliveira and Jason Young.

Finally, middleweight Mike Massenzio had his profile removed after going 1-3 in his second trip to the Octagon. Overall, Massenzio is 2-5 in the UFC.
