UFC on FOX 3 is getting closer to all of us in the MMA world, and so far, the card’s looking like the quality of card that most fans would love to see either on FOX, FX, and/or FUEL TV.
Nate Diaz vs. Jim Miller serves as the headliner to the card that comes live on May 5 at IZOD Center in East Rutherford, N.J.
Also on the card is a heavyweight bout featuring Pat Barry and Lavar Johnson, John Hathaway vs. Pascal Krauss in the Welterweight division, John Dodson vs. Darren Uyenoyama in Dodson’s Flyweight return and Uyenoyama’s Flyweight debut, Danny Castillo vs. John Cholish in what should be a promising “East Coast vs. West Coast” Lightweight bout, and Mike Massenzio vs. Karlos Vemola in a do-or-die bout for the Middleweight known as the “Master of Disaster” that also serves as Vemola’s Middleweight debut.
Also, Louis “Goodnight” Gaudinot faces John Lineker in Gaudinot’s Flyweight return and Lineker’s Flyweight debut, just added to the card is a Welterweight bout of Johny “Big Rig” Hendricks vs. Josh Koscheck and on tap for the card is a Middleweight clash between Rousimar Palhares and Alan Belcher.
Believe it or not, though, the card is not even complete yet, but it already looks like the kind of card that might produce an effect similar to that of The Ultimate Fighter’s Season 1 Finale.
Sure, not every fight is going to be a barn-burner, and truthfully, it’s tough to see anyone calling up their friends to talk about Vemola vs. Massenzio, but consider fights like Barry vs. Johnson, the Flyweight fights, Hathaway-Krauss, and especially the Diaz-Miller headliner.
The Flyweights set an unreal pace in fights, making them a blast to watch in action, while Barry and Johnson swing hard and swing with the intention to finish every time, and Hathaway vs. Krauss could be the sleeper of the card.
All that being said, do you remember the last time a Nate Diaz fight sucked, aside from Gray Maynard’s fight with Diaz?
Okay, fine, you can have Dong Hyun Kim if you so choose, but do you remember the last time a Jim Miller fight sucked?
Exactly, you don’t, and stylistically, both are skilled enough to make the fight a blockbuster no matter where the fight goes.
Add the fact that every fight with a Diaz brother starts with the signing of the contracts, meaning Diaz and Miller could easily jaw off before we even hit fight week, and it’s all the way possible that your phone could go off more than once during the fight thanks to someone calling or texting you about the fight.

If you’re not planning on it now, you might want to plan on it, because this one may get intense come fight time.
