On Wednesday evening the California State Athletic Commission released the fighter salaries for this past weekends UFC on FOX: Shogun vs. Vera event.
Topping the list of earners for the television event was former light heavyweight champ Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua who took in $240,000 ($170K show & $70K win bonus) for his fourth round TKO victory against Brandon ‘The Truth’ Vera ($70K) in the main event. The next top earner was Lyoto ‘The Dragon’ Machida, another former LHW champion, who made a flat $200,000 for his second round knockout win over Ryan ‘Darth’ Bader ($47K).
UFC on FOX 4 took place on August 4, 2012 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
