UFC on FX 3 took place on Friday, June 8 in front of a sparse crowd at the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise, FL. While things started off slowly with the preliminary card fights, the event, headlined by a flyweight title eliminator between Demetrious Johnson and Ian McCall, definitely picked up with the four fight main card.
The longest medical suspension resulting from the event was doled out to Matt Grice, who was suspended indefinitely.
Grice took home a unanimous decision victory over Leonard Garcia on the card. Grice, in his second stint with the UFC, needed the victory. His overall UFC record prior to Friday night was 1-4, and two losses in two fights in his second run with the promotion would have most likely have meant the end of his days in the UFC.
One of the more puzzling suspensions was the 60-day suspension for Scott Jorgensen, who was knocked out by Eddie Wineland. It somewhat surprising that with a diagnosis of a concussion there is no requirement for a CT scan or clearance from a doctor listed on Jorgensen’s suspension.
As for Wineland, there was no surprise with his suspension, as the cut that was open on his forehead was not one that was going to be closed without the aid of a physician.

Sean Pierson suspended for 45 days for scalp laceration.
Justin Salas suspended for 30 days for chin laceration.
Matt Grice suspended indefinitely for a possible fracture in his left foot, requires medical clearance.
Lance Benoist suspended for 45 days due to lacerations.
Scott Jorgensen suspended 60 days due to concussion.
Eddie Wineland suspended for 60 days due to forehead laceration.
Josh Neer suspended for 60 days
