When the WEC and UFC merged and Donald Cerrone became part of the UFC, not many people expected Cerrone to make this sort of run towards UFC gold.

Cowboy Cerrone is a lot better then most people think. I don’t care if he fought in the WEC, UFC or MFC, Cerrone is as real as they come inside the Octagon.

Cerrone came out last night and blasted Charles Oliveira en route to his third UFC victory. Cerrone earned Knockout of the Night honors for his first-career knockout victory over Oliveira.

If you take a look at who Cerrone has beaten, it isn’t a bad list for a man who fought in what most believe to be a less challenging version of the UFC, the WEC’s lightweight division.

Cerrone holds wins over Anthony Njokuani, Jamie Varner and Chris Horodecki. Since entering the UFC, Cerrone has beaten Paul Kelly, Vagner Rocha and now Oliveira.

The only losses on Cerrone’s record are two to Ben Henderson and one to Varner, whom he would later beat.

Cerrone is a very good, talented fighter. After last night, 13 of his 16 wins are by finishes, and ever since he joined the UFC, the thoughts of him being a slow starter are over. Cerrone comes to play, and in very dominating fashion.

Cerrone showcased a lot last night and has given us a brief glimpse of what his next fight will be like.

Cerrone is as good as they come, ladies and gentlemen, and this cowboy is just riding into town.
