Dominick Cruz defends his UFC bantamweight championship for a second time (He had two defenses in the WEC) against Demetrious Johnson this Saturday in Washington D.C.
Cruz (12-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) has been a dominant force at 135 pounds and is currently riding an nine-fight win streak.
The champions lone career loss came at the hands of Urijah Faber at featherweight and Cruz avenged that loss this past July by defeating Faber at UFC 132.
Cruz’ next challenger comes in the form of Demetrious Johnson (9-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC), who has won four consecutive fights including UFC victories over “Kid” Yamamoto and Miguel Torres.
In preparation for Johnson, Cruz spent the duration of his training camp at his home gym of Alliance MMA in California.
