UFC Vegas 19 will be down one fight later tonight (Sat., Feb. 20, 2021) live on ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, as a lightweight matchup between Luis Pena and Drakkar Klose has been removed from the card due to a positive COVID-19 test.

Pena took to social media Saturday afternoon to inform fight fans that one of Klose’s cornermen tested positive for the coronavirus. As a precaution the 155-pound bout has been scrapped from UFC Vegas 19’s card.

Check out Pena’s post below:

“I hate this man but it’s with a heavy heart that must inform you guys that the fight has been called off one of Drakkar’s corner tested positive for covid and out of the health and safety for us both the @ufc decided to pull the fight praying that he and his team remain healthy.”

“I’m gutted y’all don’t understand fighting is truly one of the only things that brings me joy in life I’ve been having to sit on the sidelines for 8 months going through ups and downs just waiting for that moment where I get to be home again I miss the bright lights I miss y’all.”

Klose, 32, was hoping to rebound after suffering a knockout loss to lightweight contender Beneil Dariush in March of 2020. Pena, 27, was looking to get back into the 155-pound win column after getting submitted by Khama Worthy last June. The lightweight matchup will be postponed for a later date, per UFC officials.
