On a card that produced just one finish and a bunch of drawn out decisions, only a few performances stood out at UFC Vegas 20 last night (Sat., Feb. 27, 2021) live on ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada,

The heavyweight main event, which saw Ciryl Gane outlast Jairzinho Rozenstruik over the course of five rounds, did not make the cut. Instead, the biggest bright spot on the entire card was a bantamweight showdown between contenders Pedro Munhoz and Jimmie Rivera. Despite how tough Rivera fought, Munhoz’s leg kicks and power punches proved too much in a sick display of striking and heart.

For their efforts, Munhoz and Rivera were awarded “Fight of the Night” and $50,000 each.

In addition to the bantamweight slugfest, another 135-pounder shined on the UFC Vegas 20 “Prelims” undercard. Octagon newcomer Ronnie Lawrence was hoping to follow-up his Contender Series performance with a memorable UFC debut and did just that. The punishing bantamweight beatdown Vince Cachero for a third-round TKO and the only finish on the card (check it out HERE).

It’s very rare that the promotion only hands out three total post-fight bonuses, but it’s understandable considering how this card failed to deliver like all of the other UFC events of 2021. The biggest disappointment had to be the main event, which was looking like a guaranteed knockout thriller leading into it.
