Venator FC 3 highlight: Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou knocks out Matt Hamill in 37 seconds

Without much going on in the world of mixed martial arts (MMA) today (Sat., May 21, 2016), all eyes were on Venator FC 3 event live from Milan, Italy.

Outside of seeing former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veterans like Cody Mackenzie and Luke Barnatt capture decisive victories, MMA journeyman Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou found himself across the cage from the only man to ever defeat the great Jon Jones, in Matt Hamill.

In epic fashion, it took Sokoudjou just 37 seconds into Round 1 to find Hamill’s chin, pepper him with strikes, and earn the knockout victory.

This was only the second time Hamill has fought since losing to Thiago Silva via unanimous decision back at UFC Fight Night 29. At 40 years of age, this defeat may be the last time we see the ultra-accomplished wrestler take to the cage.

As for Sokoudjou, this crushing finish is his 11th knockout through 17 professional victories.
