Joanna Jedrzejczyk is on the road to recovery after suffering a split-decision loss to UFC women’s strawweight champion Weili Zhang one week ago at UFC 248 in Las Vegas, in which was one of the greatest fights in UFC history.
Despite her hard fought efforts, Jedrzejczyk came up short in yet another shot to reclaim a UFC championship. She also suffered a horrific hematoma in the loss to Zhang that left her looking like something from outer space.
Earlier this week, shocking photos surfaced of Jedrzejczyk’s face and the former 115-pound champ didn’t quite look the same. It was hard to tell with the sun glasses and hat but Jedrzejczyk seemed to still be wearing the damage she sustained at UFC 248.
Now, Joanna is showing off her face seven days removed from her title fight loss with a recent video post to Instagram (shown above). It features a rather joyful Jedrzejczyk as she discusses her road to recovery and the “many bruises” left on her body.
As long as Jedrzejczyk can return to full health she should have a massive fight waiting in her future. Many want to see her run it back with Zhang for the women’s belt, but even if Jedrzejczyk doesn’t score that rematch she should land herself in a No. 1 Contender’s bout.
